Shinkoji Temple

組紐パーテーション 「雲龍」
Kumihimo Partition “Unryu”

護摩堂内に極太28mmの組紐を用いたパーテーションを設置。極太組紐はチューブを芯に組み上げており、それを浮かしながら真光寺様にゆかりのある「龍」と「雲」を融合したデザインで表現しています。各紐の間隔約8mmとることで通気性にも配慮。黒ベースの金剛組に金糸を組み込んでいるので、艶やかに輝き、視点の移動により表情を変える工夫が施されています。レール式で8枚に分解可能な構造なので、移動やメンテナンス、季節ごとの色替えも可能です。

Inside the temple’s Goma Hall, a custom partition was installed using exceptionally thick 28 mm kumihimo cords. Each cord is braided around a tubular core and suspended to form a flowing pattern that merges two sacred motifs deeply connected to Shinkoji: dragon and cloud. The cords are spaced approximately 8 mm apart, allowing for airflow within the space.

Woven in a lustrous black Kongō braid with embedded gold threads, the partition subtly shifts in appearance with the viewer’s movement—catching and reflecting light dynamically. The structure consists of eight rail-mounted panels, enabling smooth removal for maintenance, repositioning, or seasonal color changes.
