“Kumisaku Nitsū”

藤四ツ組という伝統的な丸組を使用して、片壁から天面を約2,000ｍmの空間装飾を制作しました。もとは茶室の装飾や、平安時代に御簾を結んでいた組紐ですがそこには「結界」の意味合いも強く、古くから身近な存在の工芸品だったため、本作品は、組紐そのもので空間全体を包み込むような結界を表現しています。また、組紐にはその場所に存在する「人」や「事」を結び、繋ぐ意味合いも強く、それぞれの結び目にまでこだわり、組紐に包み込まれる感覚を表現しています。

This installation features Fujiyotsugumi, a traditional round kumihimo braid, forming a 2,000 mm decorative structure that extends from one side wall to the ceiling. Historically used in teahouse décor and Heian-period bamboo blinds, kumihimo has also symbolized the concept of kekkai—a sacred spatial boundary. This work reinterprets that notion, enveloping the space itself with the intangible yet present boundary created by kumihimo. Each knot has been carefully crafted to reflect the idea of connection—not only of threads but of people and moments—offering visitors an immersive spatial experience that feels both enclosed and embraced.
